The AW 20 S air washer offers two powerful air purification and humidification functions that actively improve indoor air quality. Unlike traditional air purifiers, which tend to exacerbate the phenomenon of air dryness caused by heating in winter, this device purifies the air while ensuring a healthy humidity level.
In addition, it is possible, if necessary, to activate HEPA filtration. This highly effective filter traps tiny particles such as fine dust, smoke, pollen, allergens and mold spores. Rough particles such as animal hair or stuffed animals are captured by the device's prefilters.
The AW 20 S is equipped with AirgoPro technology. This technology cleans the ambient air by emitting positive (hydrogen) and negative ions (oxygen) as found in nature. These ions, diffused in the ambient air at the same time as purified and humidified air, cause natural chemical reactions: in contact with suspended particles and odors, they adhere to their surface, transform into highly oxidizing free radicals and neutralize the molecules by modifying their chemical composition.
The AW 20 S air washer's high-performance filtration system eliminates pollen, mold spores, dust mites, dust particles, viruses, bacteria and odours (tobacco, etc.). This system consists of three levels of filtration:

Level 1: prefilter holding coarse particles
Level 2: HEPA filter capturing 99.97% of fine particles and allergens up to 0.3 micron
Level 3: Plasma generator to eliminate harmful particles, viruses and bacteria suspended in the ambient air The AW 20 S air washer works automatically using a moisture and air quality sensor. To best meet user requirements, air humidification and odour neutralization functions can be activated as needed.
The bin has a capacity of 9 liters. In the context of operating at 20oC and by a starting relative ambient humidity of 30%, this amount is sufficient for a maximum of 48 hours.
For optimal efficiency (air renewed twice an hour), we recommend installing the AW 20 S air washer in a room with a volume of 138 m3 or less (55 m2 for 2.5 m ceiling).

Scientists have looked at virus resistance (SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) for example) based on temperature and humidity conditions. Their study showed that viruses only survived for a long time in low temperatures and humidity. Viruses survive long enough at a temperature of between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius, but only when the humidity is very low. At temperatures above 30oC, coronaviruses become inactive. In our four walls, at a temperature between 20 and 24 degrees Celsius and air humidity between 20 and 40%, we offer viruses ideal conditions.
Experts point out that it is possible to reduce the risk of infection by increasing air humidity in buildings. The risk of transmission decreases to a humidity rate of about 50%. Air humidification is an effective measure because moistened air allows airway defence mechanisms to be better prepared; the airways are purified more efficiently and the immune defences improve.
